Grading Policy
Grades are determined by a point system. All assignments are entered into Infinite Campus and are averaged by the total amount of points possible. Grades sent home on report cards are based on a student's quarter grade.
You will see a blank in Ms. Leas' gradebook on Infinite Campus if she has not entered the assignment yet. If you see a zero it means the assignment was not turned in or the student did not receive any points.
Every other week students can earn up to 40 points for participation. These points are earned by completing and turning in daily warm-up assignments and by following classroom rules and procedures.
Homework (Processing) assignments, given weekly are usually worth 30 points. Sometimes chapter or unit projects are the homework. The points for projects vary.
Notes must be taken on a daily basis and are usually worth 30 points for a weeks worth.
Notes, classwork and homework usually make up a little more than 50% of a students grade.
Quizzes will be given occasionally if another type of assessment(writing) isn't given.
Assessments will usually take a written form. These can be timed writes, done in class or other writing projects that will be assigned as homework.
